Very soon all our media channels would start airing advertisements on the festival called XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi.Few of you may be aware that India will be the host for 2010 Common wealth games.

Hosting a sporting event like Commonwealth Games would definitely be a matter of international prestige for the India. With the country already, heralded as the next world economic superpower, the Games will bring a chance to exhibit a new image for itself on the world stage. Improved infrastructure and appearance of the country, and global media exposure will serve to transform the image of the city.

The Games will help to boost urban renewal, create jobs, increase investment. Not only will the Games leave behind improved infrastructure and facilities for the country, but will also promote investment. The hospitality sector is an area that will see a huge growth spurt.

Shera, mascot of the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi, will be the most visible face of the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi. Its name comes from the Hindi word Sher – meaning tiger. Shera truly represents the modern Indian, an achiever with a positive attitude, the tiger is associated with Goddess Durga, the embodiment of Shakti and the vanquisher of evil. She rides her powerful vehicle – the tiger – into combat, especially in her epic and victorious battle against Mahishasur, a dreaded demon.

Crowd Sourcing-Next BIG Thing?

Before going into this, Let me make one thing clear that, this article is not a technical one.Its informative, usefull to one & all.

One of the present trends that is picking up pace is CROWD SOURCING.Although it started in the field of Information Technology, it can be readily implemented in any sector,field.

What is Crowd Sourcing?
Crowdsourcing is act of taking tasks traditionally performed by an employee or contractor, and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people or community in the form of an open call.
In this public(group) is invited to develop a new technology, carry out a design task, refine or carry out certain tasks in steps, or help capture, systematize or analyze large amounts of data.

Problems are broadcasted to an unknown group of solvers in the form of an open call for solutions.The crowd also sorts through the solutions, finding the best ones. These best solutions are then owned by the entity that broadcast the problem in the first place--the crowdsourcer--and the winning individuals in the crowd are sometimes rewarded.
 
Some of the advantages of Crowd Sourcing are

• Exploring of problems at comparatively little cost.
• Organization's can tap a wider range of talent.
• By listening to the crowd, organizations gain first-hand insight on customer desires.
• The community may feel a brand-building kinship with the crowdsourcing organization.

Difference between Crowd Sourcing and Ordinary OutSourcing?
In Crowd Sourcing, a task or problem is outsourced to an undefined public rather than a specific other body. Another difference between crowdsourcing and open source is that open source production is a cooperative activity initiated and voluntarily undertaken by members of the public.In crowdsourcing the activity is initiated by a client and the work may be undertaken on an individual, as well as a group basis.



The word "Crowd Sourcing" was coined by Jeff Howe in a June 2006 in Wired magazine article.

Don't be under the impression that the Trend has not yet started.

Few examples that I can site here are

• reCAPTCHA is used for digitizing old texts, by providing the text to be read by end users of a CAPTCHA spam filter. reCAPTCHA is helping to digitize over 30 million words per day from the Internet Archive and the New York Times archive. Over 200 million people have helped digitize at least one word using this system.
• The Katrina PeopleFinder Project used crowdsourcing to collect data for lost persons. Over 4000 people donated their time after Hurricane Katrina. It included 90,0000 entries.

Yes, I was a part of uTest Bug Battle, Which is a quarterly software testing competition, where thousands of software testers from around the world compete to find bugs in today's most popular web, mobile, desktop and gaming applications. uTest’s business model is based on the idea that crowdsourcing is better suited to web and mobile app testing than other outsourcing models.

GANESH MAHARAJ KI JAI

Yes, the festive season of GANESH CHATURTHI has ended,but the memories of the celebrations are still fresh in the air.One of the famous HINDU festival's "Ganesh chaturthi" is the birthday of Lord Ganesha.The supreme god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune,is widely worshipped in this season.
The last part of this festival which is Ganesh immersion or "Ganapati Nimajjan, also known as Vianayaka Visarjan is the culmination day of 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi or Ganapati Navaratri celebrations. In India,Mumbai,Pune,Nagpur,Thane,Andhra Pradesh especially Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam, are the main cities where Ganesha nimajjan is celebrated with utmost festivity
Genrally Ganesh nimajjan is performed on the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th or the 10th day of Ganesh Navratri festival.To witness this last rite thousands of people come out in procession to the nearby sea shores or lakes,ponds etc.Largest idol(50 feet) is from the Khairatabad,Hyderabad.

Eenadu::Wednesday:: unnai pol oruvan

For all those movie lovers here is a chance to catch up the best actors coming together for you.
I can't resist myself further without telling you the thing.The thing is a movie called unnai pol oruvan (in tamil) and Eenadu(in telugu) is going to release in august.
The special thing here is Malayalam Superstar Mohan lal,Tamil Superstar Kamal Hasan,Telugu super star venkatesh have joined hands for this project.




Added to this,the film is a remake of bollywood successful film Wednesday,which was highly acclaimed for its script.The hindi film casts 2 highly talented actors naseeruddin shah & Anupam kher in lead roles.

Its a short movie based on terrorism,the villan in the movie is terrorism,no songs.
The strong point of this movie will be its script,actors performance.
With such actors in place & wonderful script in hand,this movie should hit the box office.

Ever thought why team India started winning most of its matches played in recent times?
What is it,that brought so much change in India's performance?

Some would say new captain,fresh blood,coach,team selection ..etc.
But I would say it is the ATTITUDE that has done the wonders.
If at all we had lacked in anything till now was ATTITUDE.Compare the team now with the past,it was this thing which we were lacking before.
Let's see if its true!

What marks the difference between a happy & a sad person?-Attitude to the prevailing situation.Happiness is not in the situation,but how we look at certain things,the attitude we have towards life.
People who get upset over trivial matters not only ruin thei day,going around with a long facee,but also end up affecting all those close to them.For such situations not to recur,they only need a positive,winning attitude.
Having the right attitude is half the battle won.
The right attitude can make all difference between winning & losing.One cannot win in every situation.But,one can extract something beneficial from every situation.
A positive attitude will help one analyse situations,whereas a negative attitude will highlight obstacles,both real & imaginary.
Developing a positive attitude is a must for a winner & a leader.It is all within us & we only have to put it to use.It is important to remind ourselves of what our strengths are & how we can use those.Pinging for what we donot have will only make us unhappy.Instead it is easier to give our best using our own resources.Belief in one's own abilities is a must,which is bound to make one successful.

Since success starts in mind,THINK positive.Since words reflect the innerself,Speak in a positive language.Finally,to execute what is in the mind,ACT.This attitude to THINK,SPEAK,ACT positively will bring success & happiness.

(UN)DIVIDED INDIA

Sorry,folks I could not decide whether to use UNDIVIDED INDIA or DIVIDED INDIA as title for this piece of article.So let us see what caused this ambiguity in me.

INDIA which invented the concept of globalism "VASUDHAIVA KUTUMBAKAM",mainly chanted & followed by Indians,which was even whole heartedly followed by us,slowly things started changing.

We started to move away from this concept from the time we were nearing our independence.Perhaps the first crack in this undivided India started with the demand of separate statehood for the muslims.People who were fighting for the sole cause of independence started fighting against themselves for cause of separate state for muslims.
Then came the day when two nations were created on the world map.Even before the country can heal from the injuries of massacre that followed separation,demand for freeing Kashmir came and even war was fought between the two.
To add to the spur several new states were formed on basis of Languages.Earlier there was north Indian & south Indian,but this resulted in tamilian,kannadiga,Maratha,Punjabi,bihari,rajasthani,Nepali etc.This time people started to fight on basis of Language.To further spiceup the atmosphere pleas for creation of smaller territories like Telangana(Andhra pradesh),Gondwana (Chhattisgarh),Gorkhaland (West Bengal),Kodagu (Karnataka),Bodoland (Assam),Ladakh (Jammu and Kashmir),Garoland (Meghalaya) and Mithilanchal (Bihar),Uttarakhand(U.P),Bundhelkhand(M.P),Khalistan(Punjab) etc have come up.Later or sooner we would be seeing India with 50 states(Difficulty for students in mugging up states & capitals).



For the past 60 yrs we discriminate ourselves by religion,caste,language,statehood, colour,sex,surnames etc.Don't you think this is the time to stop encouraging the further division of country.
United we stand,Divided we fall.
But the only good news I have for you is in despite of all the differences
INDIA is SHINNING.
